Calls to our 0844 number cost only 5p per minute, Plus your phone companies access charge calls to 01,02 & 03, can cost 11.5p per minute!
It can be seen by the chart at the bottom of the page that the calls you make to 0844 numbers cost less to call than calls to 01, 02 or 03 numbers during the hours you need to call them from a standard BT line, when the companies are actually open, Mon-Fri 6am-7pm.
It’s a common misconception that calls to 08 numbers are bad news and always cost more to call than 01, 02 or 03 numbers. It’s true that if you call these numbers from your mobile that, at the moment, you are likely to be ripped off by your mobile operator who has highly inflated the costs to these numbers against what was once an easy to follow pricing structure.
For example, from July 2015 mobile operators will no longer be allowed to charge for a “Free” call. That’s right; Freephone calls are anything but free from your mobile at present. In the early days sites such as saynoto0870 campaigned to stop companies from receiving revenue share from a number that used to cost 8p per minute to call. This has now resulted in calls made to numbers starting 01, 02 and the newly invented 03 numbers costing more than the original 0870 rate at 9.48p from a standard BT line.
No revenue share is paid on these 01, 02 or 03 calls to the companies manning the phones but instead heaping up vast profits for BT, Virgin, TalkTalk and others to no benefit to their customers and backfiring on the saynoto0870 campaign who did receive revenue from affiliate links on their website.
Calls you make to 0844 numbers can actually be cheaper than calls to 01, 02 or 03 numbers. We receive the revenue share made on our numbers as we supply a signposting service for people who have not got the time to drill down to find company numbers.
As a company that benefits from revenue share from the calls you make, here is our take on the situation.
Based on calls from Standard BT landline during normal business hours 6am-7pm Mon-Fri.
|Numbers starting||Call charge in pence per minute|
